Member of team preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a potential water supply project. Responsible for producing and updating a legally defensible Administrative Record database under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Maintains the comment database and stakeholder contact database and handles the distribution of outreach emails, e-newsletters, and other public involvement tasks. Prepares community outreach materials, including fact sheets and project website contents. Assists in production and review of all project documents, and compiles and redacts information for public evaluation in response to Freedom of Information Act requests. Manages the project’s website and monitors the website through Google Analytics. . Coordinates communication with cooperating federal and state agencies and advises team members on federal and state regulatory compliance.

LOMA Analyst
Reviewed engineering and mapping data submitted by communities and property owners requesting revisions to the Flood Insurance Rate Maps issued by FEMA. Researched the historical impacts of Letter of Map Amendment and Letter of Map Revision applications, community annexations, and the modification of territorial boundaries. Worked with homeowners, engineers, surveyors, and community officials to explain the impacts of the National Flood Insurance Program and the technical aspects of a Letter of Map Amendment. Interacted directly with the public and government representatives as the interface between a property owner and FEMA. Implemented and interpreted National Flood Insurance Program regulations, produced individual map documents using ArcGIS for properties located in areas lacking detailed hydraulic analysis, and processed more than 1,500 cases and prepared LOMAs utilizing best available data for more than 960 properties.
